I am forty two years old. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. I have been a nurse since I was 21. My original dream was to become a flight medic but I got hurt soon after I became an EMT. I decided to become a nurse and think it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I am still an adrenaline junkie and work in an urban ER. I love the excitement and the uncertainty of what might happen next. I know that every day I go to work I make a difference in someone's life.
I have been married for almost 22 years. It is hard to believe that 22 years have past but we are more and more in love every day. WE are finally starting to live the life that we have always dreamed of. My husband (dr_mnemonic) is just about to start his Internal medicine residency. He isn't Completely sure what he is going to do after IM so only time will tell. We have three beautiful sons 15, 11, and 10. We also have two dogs and three cats.
I am registered Republican. I am very conservative on some fronts but much more liberal on others for instance I don't believe in abortion but would never want to take the choice away from others. I believe in same sex marriages. I think this country is filled with dead beats that need to get off welfare and we pay way to many taxes already.
I love to work out. I work out several days a week and get a lot of motivation from my personal trainer. I am finally happy with my body and am ready for bikini season. It has taken a lot of hard work.
When I first started posting, it was an attempt to heal a very painful situation. I have made some great friends and to them I will be eternally grateful.
I am a buddhist christian. I know many of you don't think the two can be reconciled but it works for me. I have been studying buddism for several years and I would be completely buddhist but I can't abandon my upbringing as a christian. It is to deeply engrained in my being. I was fortunate enough to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Colorado a few years ago and spoke to him about my dilema. He smiled at me and said "Being christian is your way. Use buddhism as a way of enriching your ife but don't abandon your christianity. That is what I have chosen to do. I am not the best buddhist or christian but I am working on it. I work harder at being a better buddhist than I do a christian. Buddhism makes more sense to me. Maybe someday I will be disciplined enough to be a true buddhist. Until then, I will keep studying and practicing buddhist traditions.
